We accept and file claims as a courtesy to our patients for all insurance plans except DMO’s and HMO’s.

Our goal in this practice is to provide the very highest quality dental treatment available at an exceptional value.  Unfortunately, insurance companies make money by paying only the very cheapest alternative, disregarding what is in the patient’s best interest!  Very frequently, they will disregard what we diagnose just to decrease the benefit and increase the profit for them.  When an insurance company offers an alternate benefit, they are in essence making a diagnosis.  We do not let insurance companies diagnose our patients, we let the doctor do that.  We refuse to compromise, in any way, the state-of-the-art quality care our patients deserve and receive through our diagnosis and treatment.

You may receive notification from your insurance company stating our dental fees are “above usual and customary”. 
An insurance company surveys a geographic area, calculates an average fee then considers it “customary”.  Included
in this survey are discount clinics and managed care facilities, which bring down the average fees.

It has been our experience that patients have the impression that their plan will pay up to 80%, even 100% of their
dental fees.  In spite of what you were told, we’ve found many plans cover about 40%-50% of an average fee.  The amount your plan pays is determined by how much your employer paid for the plan.  You will be the least frustrated
with your insurance if you take it for what it is- a benefit to help you defray some of your dental care costs.

As a courtesy, we will submit the insurance paperwork for you.  We request that you pay your predetermined co-
payment or patient portion at the time of service.  When your insurance company pays us, any difference or remaining balance will be your responsibility.  If your insurance company postpones payment for more than 60 days, we ask that you make the remaining payment while we work together to get the insurance company to pay you their obligations.
